Private Client Manager
US Based
SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL AT PELORUS
At Pelorus, we create highly personal travel experiences for clients who expect exceptional advice, access and delivery. We are seeking a Private Client Manager to own and grow trusted, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, converting qualified opportunities into profitable bookings and ensuring each client feels understood, well advised and confident throughout their journey with us.
This is a commercial relationship role, working closely with Travel Designers and the wider Design & Delivery team to translate each client’s ambitions into exceptional, deliverable travel experiences across Pelorus Travel, Yachting and Aviation.
Your Mission
As a Private Client Manager, you will act as the principal relationship owner for an agreed portfolio of new and existing clients. You will build a deep understanding of each client’s preferences, priorities, travel history, decision-making style and wider household or family requirements, using this knowledge to create long-term relationships that drive repeat business, referrals and opportunities across Pelorus Travel, Yachting and Aviation.
You will be accountable for the commercial relationship and the sale, leading qualified opportunities from first conversation through to confirmation. Working in close partnership with Travel Designers and the wider Design & Delivery team, you will ensure each brief is clear, commercially viable and rooted in the client’s underlying motivations, not only the stated itinerary request.
The Impact you'll Create
Build trusted, long-term relationships with high-value clients.
Convert qualified leads and opportunities into profitable bookings.
Support repeat business, referrals and account growth across Pelorus Travel, Yachting and Aviation.
Translate client conversations into clear, commercially viable briefs for the Design & Delivery team.
Represent the client’s needs internally while balancing operational feasibility, supplier terms, margin and responsible business practice.
Your Responsibilities
Client Relationship Ownership
Act as the principal relationship owner for an agreed portfolio of new and existing clients, from initial enquiry through long-term engagement.
Deeply understand and articulate client motivations, emotional drivers, preferences, and desired outcomes.
Maintain appropriate, proactive contact before, during and after travel, ensuring the Design & Delivery team has direct access to the client wherever this improves the quality and efficiency of the work.
Build trusted, high-touch relationships with ultra-high-net-worth clients, their representatives, and family offices where relevant.
Build enduring relationships that create repeat business, referrals and opportunities across Travel, Yachting and Aviation.
Sales & Conversion
Qualify enquiries and opportunities, establishing fit, intent, budget, timescale and decision-making requirements.
Lead the consultative sales process from first conversation through to confirmation, including shaping the proposition, managing objections, presenting recommendations and agreeing next steps.
Meet agreed individual and team targets for revenue, margin, conversion, pipeline development, repeat business and referrals.
Maintain a disciplined, current pipeline and accurate client and opportunity records in the company’s systems.
Protect margin and commercial terms, escalating exceptions or material risks in line with agreed authority levels.
Identify appropriate cross-selling and upselling opportunities without compromising the quality or integrity of the client relationship.
Protect margin and commercial terms while ensuring recommendations are positioned clearly and appropriately for the client.
Briefing and Collaboration
Translate client conversations into a clear, commercially viable brief for the Designer, including the client’s underlying motivations and non-negotiables rather than only the stated itinerary request.
Agree roles, communication points and decision deadlines with the Designer at the outset of each opportunity.
Work in close partnership with the Designer while respecting their ownership of the detailed design, costing and feasibility of the trip.
Ensure feedback is clear, timely and consolidated so unnecessary design iterations are avoided.
Support a clean handover into delivery and remain accountable for the health of the overall client relationship when issues arise.
Capture meaningful client feedback and use it to strengthen future recommendations, service standards and account plans.
Internal Collaboration
Represent the client’s needs internally while balancing those needs with operational feasibility, supplier terms, margin and responsible business practice.
Set clear expectations and communicate honestly where a request is not advisable, achievable or in the client’s best interests.
Handle concerns promptly and constructively, involving the appropriate operational or leadership support where necessary.
Use client insight and feedback to strengthen future recommendations, service standards and account plans.
Client Data & Intelligence
Maintain accurate and detailed client records within the CRM, including preferences, travel history, relationship insights and opportunity notes.
Keep pipeline records current, disciplined and commercially useful.
Capture and share qualitative feedback and client intelligence to inform future recommendations and account plans.
Use CRM, pipeline and performance data to prioritise activity and improve results.
What You’ll Bring
